Nubra Valley

Nubra means the valley of flowers Nubra Valley is situated in the north of Leh. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 feet above the sea level, it is famous for its natural beauty, in nubra we have turtuk village, panamik hot spring, hunder village, sand dunes,diskit village and monastery,siachen glacier etc.

Nubra Valley is indeed a precious treasures of Ladakh where people still living in the complete isolation for most of the year from rest of the world in the heart of the great Himalayas. The landscape, biodiversity, and culture of Nubra are distinct from other parts of Ladakh. Nubra is located on the historical route that connected Central Asia with Ladakh and Baltistan with Tibet. The constant movement of mercantile goods and ideas through the valley over several centuries has made Nubra a unique place. In Nubra, you can still observe and ride the Bactarian camel (double-humped camel), which originates in Central Asia and was used extensively in the Silk Route trade.

Different parts of the valley are also famous for the presence of ibex, snow leopards, wild seabuckthorn (Hippophae sp) and an interesting mix of species from the Tibetan plateau, Alpine mountain regions and Central Asia.
